๐ฅFull Glass February Challenge ๐ฅ
As we near the end of the January, would you consider bringing a habit for your body and soul into February?
My daily water bottle is a Yeti, which means I can’t see when it needs refilling. I can be rolling through my day, reach for it, and surprise! It’s empty. Also, I’m not likely to stop and fill it if I am doing something.
Is it just me?
I'm going to try something new in February.
Want to join me?
Here's a simple water practice:
No matter what you drink out of of…glass, mason jar, or a pink Yeti, fill it up three times a day, and while you are filling it, consider all the ways your life is full.
Use it as an intentional pause to refill the water and yourself. Create a moment to nourish your body and mind.
Morning,
Afternoon.
Evening.
Each refill is going to become an intentional pause to get more water and refill yourself. We're going to choose to nourish ourselves ahead of time.
As you refill with water, take a moment to consider all the ways your life is already full. We’re taking “the glass half full” idea and improving it.
We’re proving the glass is full.
More water.
Better thoughts.
Win-Win.
We tend to wait until something is empty before we refill it. (Remember my post about the gas light? ๐)
I wonder what would shift if we didn’t wait until empty?
What if we refilled because it's 11 a.m. and that's what women who take care of themselves do?
Now, let's address the questions I know are coming:
“Does coffee count?”
“What about soda?”
“Does tea count? Asking for a friend.”
Listen. This is self-care, not a graded assignment.
I do think water is the best choice for this practice.
I do think that’s what our bodies actually want. It nourishes us, wakes up our organs, refreshes our brain.
But this isn’t about perfection.
It’s about nourishment that your body recognizes and that oh,I needed that feeling like a sip of cold water on a hot day. (I know it’s winter, but stay with me.) We often don't pause for moments like this and for this month, we are.
There's a bonus here, too.
Thought work is easier when we’re not running on empty. A dehydrated body leads to a dehydrated brain…hello brain fog.
When you replenish consistently, your perspective gets healthier, your inner dialogue gets kinder, and your thinking gets clearer.
Filling your cup becomes a tiny reset with a big payoff.
That’s what we’re going for here…whether it comes from the water in your glass or taking time to think more helpful thoughts.
Water for your body.
Nourishment for your mind.
We need both.
Imagine this:
You reach the end of February and every time you reached for water, you also practiced noticing your full, beautiful life. Doesn’t that sound like more of what we want and how we want to show up?
You can try the morning, afternoon, evening plan. You can tie it to your meals. Or you can tie it to seeing water. When you see a water source, assume your glass needs filling. Assume you need filling.
As you take that first sip, recount a few things that make your life feel full... the good, the ordinary, the blessings the gratitude.
That’s the whole practice.
Water for the body and nourishment for your mind.
And no, I’m not going to give you a checklist, though I was tempted. We do love a good checklist, don’t we? If you need a reminder, try a Post-it note or a beaded bracelet. Set an alarm if afternoons sneak up on you. Choose whatever feels kind.
I'd love to hear how your energy, your mood, and even the way you talk to yourself shifts this month.
